96+ JG. "Hard to believe, the but the Mugnier les Amoureuses is even a small step up in quality and complexity from the brilliant Bonnes-Mares. The profound bouquet offers up a sparkling blend of red and black cherries, sappy blood orange, intense violets, a kaleidoscope of chalky soil tones, mustard seed and a gently smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is medium-full, velvety and very pure on the attack, with a sappy core of fruit, magical transparency, fine-grained tannins and simply brilliant length and grip on the dancing, ethereal and boundless finish. If ever a wine was the embodiment of feminine beauty, this is the wine, and I am completely enchanted and in love from the first glimpse!" John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Nov/Dec 2011, Issue #36 |
