91 JG. "The 2002 Charmes has turned out quite well indeed in this vintage. The bouquet offers up a fine mélange of strawberries, coffee, grilled meats, red cherries, herb tones, earth and a touch of spice in the upper register. On the palate the wine is medium-full and pure, with good depth in the mid-palate, fine acids, moderate tannins, and excellent length and grip on the finish. This vintage of Charmes seems to have a bit more stuffing than is the norm chez Rousseau, which is especially impressive . . ." John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Bonus Articles, Nov 2003 |
