96-98 WA. "A new wine, the 2014 Mourvedre (there’s 14% Syrah in the blend) comes from the Alta Mesa and White Hawk Vineyards. It will see around two years in oak, and unfortunately, there are a scant 70 cases made. Nevertheless, it’s certainly worth the extra effort to track down and is a benchmark for this variety. Loaded with notions of spiced meats, pepper, crushed flowers and earth, this beauty hits the palate with a pedal to the metal, rich, unctuous texture that stays lively, pure and fresh, with notable ripe tannin kicking in on the finish.
