93+ JG. "The 2009 Clos des Chênes from Maison Jadot is stellar. Here there is nothing but perfect ripeness, great terroir and the potential for a velvety and very complex period of peak maturity. The bouquet is a superb and very elegant mélange of black cherries, dark plums, bitter chocolate, fresh herbs, woodsmoke and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very pure on the attack, with a great core of fruit, lovely soil tones, fine-grained tannins and a fine sense of reserve on the long and nascently complex finish. This will be a superb bottle of wine in the fullness of time." John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Nov/Dec 2010, Issue #30 |
