90 WA. "Coming up on a decade of bottle age, the 2006 Limoux Domaine de Baron’Arques is still going strong and has classic notes of black currants, blackberries, chocolate, tobacco leaf and licorice. These give way to a medium to full-bodied Limoux that has solid concentration and mid-palate density, still present tannin and a balanced, graceful style that will do it well over the coming 5-8 years. Owned by the Rothschild family, Domaine de Baron’Arques is one of the leading estates in Limoux. They made a fabulous white based off Chardonnay and two reds: the entry level Limoux La Capitelle, and the top wine, the Domaine de Baron’Arques. Both cuvées appear to age gracefully, and the top cuvee can certainly keep for 15-20 years in a good vintage." eRobertParker.com #224, Apr 2016 |
