90+ RP. "From an old grape growing family first established in Napa Valley in 1947, this 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from a 41-acre Oakville vineyard planted in 1971. Made from 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Petit Verdot, it possesses a dense ruby/purple color with lots of cassis, licorice and a hint of barrique. Medium to full-bodied, pure and long, it reminds me of the early, top-notch Cabernet Sauvignons I tasted in the 1970s . . . . somewhat old-fashioned, it is authentic and convincing. It should age nicely for . . . decades." Wine Advocate #207, Jun 2013 |
