"The extremely low yields of 2013 in the Niederberg Helden have produced some of the most ethereal and stunning young wines from this vineyard that I can recall tasting. The 2013 Spätlese is a beautiful wine, wafting from the glass in an extremely elegant mix of pear, bee pollen, white cherries, orange zest, spring flowers, lovely notes of slate and a whisper of lilacs in the upper register. On the palate the wine is medium-full, pure and very filigreed this year, with lovely purity and balance, a fine core, zesty acids and laser-like focus on the long and dancing finish.
