Lot #121. Truchot-Martin Clos de la Roche 1990

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Score: 93 JG.
"The 1990 Truchot Clos de la Roche is another stellar success for the vintage, and though it does not quite possess the same precision of the 1991, it makes up for this with a bit more opulence and warmer tones. The bouquet is deep and lovely, delivering a mélange of plums, chocolate, herbs, game, a bit of dried orange peel, and notes of sous bois. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and displays brilliant acidity for the vintage, with a rock solid core of fruit, and great grip on the ripely tannic and palate-staining finish. This is a stunning example of the vintage that has maintained every ounce of its youthful freshness and purity, while adding layers of complexity. In the ripe vintage of 1990, this is no small accomplishment." John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Mar/Apr 2006, Issue #2
Notes: Lightly scuffed and lightly bin soiled label.
