Lot #280. Brovia Barolo Cà Mia 2008

Description: Consists of 7 Bottles, 0.75L
Region: Italy, Piedmont, Barolo.
Score: 96+ WA.
"Brovia’s Serralunga Barolo, the 2008 Barolo Cà Mia, saturates every corner of the palate. Dark fruit, smoke, melted road tar, graphite and incense wrap around the palate in this dramatic large-scaled Barolo. Even more promising than it was right after bottling, the 2008 impresses for its spherical personality and towering class. Serralunga is, of course, best known for producing powerful wines, but Brovia’s Cà Mia is just as remarkable for its superb finesse and elegance . . . . I can’t say enough good things about the Brovia family and what they have accomplished over the years, but especially over the last decade or so, which has seen them jump into the upper echelon of Barolo producers. The 2008s had just been bottled when I tasted them in November 2011. Now that the wines have been in bottle a little longer, it is clear they are fulfilling all of their early promise." Wine Advocate #203, Oct 2012
