93+ JG. "The Duc de Magenta Clos de la Garenne is even finer than the above. The nose offers up an exceptional mélange of lemon, apples, a touch of pink grapefruit, white flowers, chalky soil tones, a bit of stoniness and a deft framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very, very pure on the attack, with a fine core, great transparency and outstanding cut on the very long and racy finish. There is a notable step up here from the Magenta straight la Garenne, particularly in terms of transparency, snap and structural integrity. A superb bottle."
