93 RP. "The least expensive Cabernet Sauvignon is the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Three Twins Vineyard, from a site located in Conn Valley not far from Seavey Vineyard. This is a small production cuvée of only 100 cases. The wine shows dusty/loamy soil notes, underbrush, nice blackcurrant and black cherry fruit and a touch of Asian plum. It is ripe, heady, medium to full-bodied and ideal for drinking over the next 12-15 years. Mike Smith has done a fabulous job at Myriad Cellars in Calistoga working with some fabulous vineyards and creating sumptuous, sexy and consumer-friendly, relatively big and exuberant wines. His 2012s and 2013s were top flight, and he has followed that up with strong successes in 2014 and 2015." Wine Advocate #228, Dec 2016 |
