"A deep mahogany colour though not quite as clear as the 1947. The nose is a bit stalky with notes of strawberry, cranberry . . . . The medium-bodied palate is well-knit , harmonious with moderate complexity. Linear, quite elegant . . . . this was very fine . . ." Neal Martin, Wine Journal, Dec 1999
