Lot #50. Léoville Barton 1990

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Score: 94 RP.
"Still backward, tannic, and formidably endowed, but beginning to budge from its infancy, this opaque garnet/purple-colored wine offers up notes of licorice, damp earth, sweet black currants, wood, and some underbrush. Very full-bodied, with huge amounts of glycerin and concentration backed up by some impressive levels of tannin, this wine is one of the more backward 1990s, but is just beginning to move out of infancy into adolescence. It is an exceptional wine that seems to have gotten even better than I predicted it would be from the cask and from its life early in the bottle. " Bordeaux Book, 4th Edition, Jan 2003
Notes: Base neck, wine stained label, sign of slight past seepage.
