95 JG. "The 2005 Clos is a brilliant wine, that is made primarily from sixty year-old vines. The bouquet is deep, complex and pure (though still quite primary), as it offers up notes of grapefruit, green apple, bread fruit, flint and wet stones. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and racy, with a powerful expression of minerality, great cut and raciness, and great grip on the long, complex and palate-staining finish. A terrific bottle of Chablis in the making, with the raciness of a 2004, rather than the more gently structured profile of many 2005s." John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Nov/Dec 2006, Issue #6 |
