Lot #7. Armand Rousseau Chambertin-Clos de Bèze 1989

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Score: 97-99 NM.
"Deep garnet core with thin tawny rim. The nose is meaty: gravy on a Sunday roast mixed with bbq sauce! So complex and decadent. The palate is Burgundy at its best: brilliant balance with the freshness most Bordeaux wines can only dream of. Notes of toffee and cooked meats. This wine is so exotic, rich and complex - certainly one of the best Chambertin's I have ever tasted. Drinking now, though this has the tannins to see it through another few years. Rousseau must be the best wine-maker in Burgundy?" Neal Martin, Wine Journal, Dec 1999
Provenance: The Dorset Cellar
Notes: 2cm, very lightly scuffed capsule, very lightly scuffed vintage neck tag, lightly scuffed, very lightly bin soiled, very lightly damp stained label.
