95+ JG. "The 2013 Les St. Georges is outstanding, and as is so often the case here, clearly of grand cru quality in this vintage. The pure, nascently complex and beautifully focused nose wafts from the glass in a mix of sweet dark berries, black cherries, espresso, a beautifully complex base of soil tones, a touch of graphite, gamebirds, woodsmoke and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and rock solid at the core, with great mineral drive, laser-like focus, fine-grained tannins and a very long, tangy and utterly seamless finish. This is a brilliant wine in the making." John Gilman, View From the Cellar #54, Dec 2014 |
