90 RP. "Even better is the stacked and packed, very concentrated, yet elegant, pure, and impeccably well-balanced 2007 Cotes du Rhone Le Ponnant. This big-time Cotes du Rhone exhibits loads of concentration as well as abundant red and black fruit characteristics intermixed with notions of incense, spice, pepper, and licorice. Le Ferme du Mont's 2007 and 2008 Chateauneuf du Pape are both incredible sleepers of the vintage. This small estate’s dedicated, conscientious, young proprietor, Stephane Vedeau, appears intent on making a top-flight reputation for himself." Wine Advocate #185, Oct 2009 |
