92 JG. "As Laurent Ponsot related when I tasted the inaugural vintage of 2009 of this wine back in the winter of 2010, it is bottled under the name of 'Cuvée Baurdon' to protect the identity of the proprietor from which the grapes are purchased. The 2011 had just been racked the week before our visit, but was showing quite well despite this, offering up a deep and sappy nose of black cherries, dark berries, chocolate, some resinous tones and a deep base of soil. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, long and very sappy at the core, with good acids, ripe tannins and very fine length and grip. Today the wine is quite fruit-driven in personality, but I am sure that is simply a result of its recent racking and more of its soil personality will come to the fore as it bounces back from the racking."
