". . . now showing beautifully aged tertiary aromas of powdered licorice, campfire ash and balsam herb that accompany a core of dark, ripe fruit. Those fruit nuances include tangy accents of dried apricot and candied orange peel. That salty, mineral-like signature of the Valmaggiore cru is elegantly on display. This was a warm vintage, and heat in May was sustained comfortably by the vines, thanks to generous water reserves underground.
