93 JG. "At the time of my visit the 2009 Suchots was really showing well. The nose is deep, pure and nascently complex, as it offers up a properly reserved blend of cassis, black raspberry, espresso, game, woodsmoke, very complex soil tones and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, very pure and quite structured, with a rock solid core of fruit, superb length and grip and plenty of ripe, very suave tannins perking up the tangy finish. Suchots can often be a rather forward and flamboyant premier cru, and when it is reserved like the 2009 Jadot version, I always take this as a very, very positive sign for its future evolution. A superb premier cru in the making." John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Nov/Dec 2010, Issue #30 |
