94+ JG. "The 2012 Corton “Perrières” from Jean-Nicolas Méo is absolutely outstanding this year. The wine offers up a deep and superb bouquet of black cherries, blood orange, gamebirds, stony minerality, woodsmoke, coffee, a lovely dollop of Corton spice tones and a judicious framing of new wood. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and extremely elegant for a young Corton, with superb minerality, a very sappy core of fruit, excellent focus and grip and a very long, suavely-tannic finish. This is a dynamite Corton in the making!" John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Nov/Dec 2013, Issue #48 |
