94 JG. "The most aristocratic and complete bouquet in all of Gevrey is again lovely in 2000, soaring from the glass with scents of dark berries, plums, cocoa powder, just a nascent hint of grilled meats, herb tones, minerals, violets and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and nicely delineated right to the sappy kernel of fruit at the core. The finish is already very complex (though the wine is still very primary), with excellent focus and grip, and well-integrated tannins. This may never shut down like the 1997 now has, but it will age very, very well on its impeccable balance."
