92 AM. "10 to 15 year old vines aged in 45% new wood. The openly exotic and highly complex nose speaks of spicy white orchard fruit aromas, in particular pear and white peach though there is a trace of green apple as well. There is excellent richness and outstanding intensity to the ultra-pure and tension-filled flavors that evidence a subtle mineral influence on the driving saline-infused finish. La Romanée can often be an opulent wine but this version is really quite tight and racy at present." Burghound.com, Jun 01, 2012 |
