Lot #439. Luigi Einaudi Barolo 1989

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Region: Italy, Piedmont, Barolo.
Score: 95 RP.
"This blockbuster, old style, opaque purple-colored Barolo has undoubtedly seen little fining or filtering! Extraordinarily extracted, with a huge nose of melted road tar, plums, cherries, Asian spices, and roses, this mammothly constructed, super-rich, superb wine is a heavyweight Barolo, with gobs of glycerin, extract, tannin, and alcohol. It should be civilized with another 5-6 years of cellaring and last for 25 or more years. Enough of this nonsense that traditionally-styled Barolo can't be great!" Wine Advocate #92, Apr 1994
Notes: Damp stained, mold stained, lightly scuffed label.
