Lot #71. Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 1988

Description: Consists of 5 Bottles, 0.75L
Score: 92 NM.
"Tasted at the Fine Wine Experience’s Pichon-Lalande vertical in London. This has an attractive . . . nose with tobacco, graphite, cedar and a touch of earthiness coming through. That graphite scent becomes more intense with time. The palate is medium-bodied, very well balanced, masculine but a nice sense of tension. Touches of burnt toast, savoury fruits and sour cherry towards the finish. A sense of elegance here, paradigmatic of a great austere 1988." Neal Martin, Wine Journal, Sep 2009
Provenance: The Hanseatic Cellar
Notes: Very top shoulder, very lightly scuffed, very lightly corroded capsules, very lightly scuffed, 2 lightly damp stained, 1 nicked labels.
