Lot #337. Billecart-Salmon Clos St. Hilaire Brut 1998

Description: Consists of 2 Bottles, 0.75L
Score: 99 JS.
"Medium amber gold color. Aromas of toasted bread with butter and spices such as nutmeg shell. Full-bodied, layered and powerful with loads of fresh acidity, spice, mushroom and sous bois. This is on a different planet for Champagne; it's extreme, and it's like a red. A mind-blowing and electrifying wine. Fermented 100% in barrel and from one hectare next to the winery in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ. It's a tiny clos. 100% pinot noir and 10 years on lees. 6,750 bottles made." James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com, Oct 2012
Provenance: The Mont Blanc Cellar
Lot Location: Orange County
Estimate: $550
