. WA. "Strub's 2006 Niersteiner Bruckchen Riesling Kabinett was assembled from several lots, one of which was clearly an Auslese. Talcum and heliotrope on the nose are complemented on the palate by the wine's apple and vanilla and its well-balanced sweetness (even though on paper - as usual - it seems as though the wine should taste really sweet). This also manages a fine sense of delicacy thanks in part to a mere 9% alcohol (and thus to its high residual sugar), yet there is a plushness of texture and a sense of stuffing, which carries into the wine's distinctly chalky finish."
