Lot #52. Lafite Rothschild 1973

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Score: 17.5 JR.
"Attractive ruby with rusty shade to the rim. Lovely ethereal nose. Quite a bit of acid but lovely balance. Long. Menthol fresh. Bone dry. Well mannered. Very Lafite. Long. Super refreshing. Opened out in the glass to be quite rich. A beautifully balanced wine, the like of which we may never see again, as everyone chases ripeness . . . . when you have great terroir, a wine like this can be sensational." Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, Jul 2010
Provenance: The Autruche Cellar
Notes: High shoulder, nicked, lightly corroded capsule, lightly torn, lightly damp stained, lightly scuffed, nicked label.
