Lot #799. Dehlinger Proprietary Red Claret 2011

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Score: 91 AG.
"The 2011 vintage was especially challenging for Cabernet Sauvignon. Dehlinger used only 2 of his 4.5 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon and opted to bottle on his Claret, which has turned out to be outstanding. Grilled herbs, blackberries, cassis and spices are rich, deep and beautifully expressive in the glass. This is a gorgeous wine by any measure, but a true steal considering the price. I am sure the decision not to produce the Cabernet Sauvignon bottling was a difficult one, but in exchange Tom and Eva Dehlinger have given their customers the change to enjoy an absolutely stellar wine at a very reasonable price. Readers who can find the 2011 should not hesitate; it is delicious." Vinous, Feb 2014
Provenance: The Abacus Cellar
Lot Location: Orange County
Estimate: $45
