97 AM. "In most vintages I prefer the elegance and finesse of the Demoiselles to the power of the Montrachet but in 96, the additional weight of the Monty is carried effortlessly on the ripe but serious acid spine. The palate is rich, concentrated and detailed with such incredible power that the finish literally lasts for minutes on end. This is one of those wines that forces you to drink it slowly as it is so intense that the palate demands time to recover. In sum, this is a great Montrachet worthy of the name that should easily last for several decades." Burghound.com, Aug 15, 2015 |
