92 JG. "The 1973 Viña Albina Rioja Gran Reserva is a beautifully elegant and perfumed wine that is now at its peak of maturity. The bouquet offers up a lovely constellation of strawberries, cherries, coconut, fresh nutmeg, rose petals and a lovely base of salty soil tones. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, pure and velvety, with bright fruit at the core, bouncy acids and lovely length and grip on the suave and very refined finish. My only, very minor complaint with this very pretty wine is that it is not quite as complex as the very top examples from this great Rioja vintage."
