95 JG. "Jean-Louis Trapet’s version of Chapelle-Chambertin in 2010 is a brilliant, as the wine soars from the glass in a gorgeous blend of sappy cherries, blood orange, magically complex soil tones, woodsmoke, fresh herbs, raw cocoa and a refined base of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very pure on the attack, with simply stunning transparency, tangy acids, laser-like focus and brilliant length and grip on the utterly suave, pure and seamless finish. Just a magical and supremely elegant example of Chapelle-Chambertin- man, I love this terroir in a maestro’s hands!" John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Nov/Dec 2011, Issue #36 |
