92 DC. "Made from Nebbiolo grapes cultivated in the Massara vineyard in the commune of Verduno. We are in the northern part of the Barolo zone, which produces particularly subtle and elegant wines. The Massara from Castello di Verduno is an iconic example of the area’s products. It has a pure garnet hue and delicate perfumes, with notes of violets and sour cherries that give way to lighter hints of liquorice and hay. The flavour is well-balanced, underpinned by acidity and evident but not aggressive tannins. The finish is subtle and elegant, of medium length. This is a wine that demands concentration, because of its reserved sobriety. Serve it at 18°C with roast quails, rabbit in potacchio or beef tenderloin cooked in red wine."
