96+ JG. "The 2000 Raveneau Clos is extremely elegant and complex at this stage, with similar reticence as displayed by the Montée de Tonnerre and Valmur, but already a more complete wine that shows all of its slices of what will it be in the future. Today, the bouqet is pure grapefruit and soil, with notes of flint, chalk and oyster shell all to be found among the shadings of terroir in this young wine. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and racy, with a seamless structure, perfectly integrated and bracing acids, and profound length on the finish. A very young, very aristocratic bottle of Chablis." John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Dec 2003 |
