"Saturated black-ruby. Flowers, iron and nutmeg on the nose. Large-scaled, very rich and sweet, with chewy tannins and strong acidity providing a very firm structural underpinning. Like the above, this shows terrific inner-mouth flavor despite its extreme youthfulness. Seemed to grow increasingly musclebound in the glass, but the fruit builds impressively on the very long finish. Extraordinary for the vintage." Vinous, May 1998 |
