95+ JG. "The extra dimension that Musigny brings to the table is not always easy to read in a young Roumier bottling, but in 2000 the Roumier Moose is wearing its heart on its sleeve. For those who are lucky enough to track down a few bottles, they will find a beautifully complex wine that offers up a perfume of black cherries, red berries, blood orange, cocoa powder, roses, woodsmoke, loads of minerals, and a very judicious framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the Musigny is not quite as powerful as the Bonnes-Mares, but with just as much intensity of flavor, already great vinosity, ripe, well-integrated tannins, and superb length and complexity on the finish. This will be another tour de force Roumier Musigny." John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Apr 2004 |
