93+ JG. "The vineyard of Beaux Monts can often be quite a black fruity example of Vosne (or Flagey, if one wants to be precise), but Monsieur Clavelier’s 2010 offers up really lovely red fruit tones to add to the aromatic fireworks this year. The deep and very classy nose jumps from the glass in a blend of raspberries, blood orange, black cherries, lovely minerality, bonfires, Vosne spices and cedar. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very, very transparent, with a sappy core of fruit, great minerality on the backend, ripe, suave tannins and beautiful focus and balance on the very long and tangy finish. This is a beautiful bottle of Beaux Monts." John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Jun 2012 |
