97 JG. "The 2014 Bonnes-Mares from Christophe Roumier is a stunning young wine. The great nose soars from the glass in a very vibrant blend of red and black cherries, raw cocoa, woodsmoke, incipient gamebird, violets, mustard seed, a magically complex base of soil and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and rock solid at the core, with that inimitable combination of sappy fruit and stunning transparency that make the very best 2014s undeniably profound wines. The finish is very, very long, ripely tannic and seamless, with stunning latent energy and magical potential. Just add fifteen years bottle age et voilà."
