95 AG. "The fruit is beginning to take on hints of tertiary complexity in a Barolo that is quite expressive although a bit slender and less finessed than the very best vintages. Admittedly, that is a very high bar here. Hints of leather, smoke, pine, licorice and menthol add complexity on the dark, brooding finish. With time in the glass, the 2005 opens up nicely . . . . The 2005 was made from a number of parcels; Vignane (Barolo), Conterni and Ceretta (Monforte) and Merli (Novello)." Vinous, Sep 2014 |
