Lot #203. Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc 1988

Description: Consists of 2 Bottles, 0.75L
Score: 93 JD.
"The 1988 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc was a treat to taste and demonstrated how well these wines can age. In fact, the case could be made that some of the most age worthy wines coming from the southern Rhône are the whites! Nevertheless, this presents a decidedly mineral, almond driven profile with touches of hay, honeycomb, and spice showing up as it sat in the glass. Medium-bodied and incredibly fresh, while at the same time holding onto solid richness and texture through the mid-palate, this finishes with class and focus." Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com, Sep 2011
Notes: 1 Nicked capsule, 1 lightly torn, lightly faded labels.
