Lot #62. L'Évangile 1966

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Region: France, Bordeaux, Pomerol.
Score: 19 JR.
"Exceptionally deep blackish crimson. Mulberry flavours that were very enticing. Fresh, very lively yet with real concentration. So good I thought, blind, it was a 1961. Rich and velvety. A really lovely wine, and yet it is only half the price of the 2005 L'Évangile (around £1,250 a case initially). This still has a lot of pleasure left to give. Great value . . ." Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, Oct 2006
Provenance: The Companion Cellar
Notes: Mid shoulder, nicked, lightly corroded capsule, tissue stained, lightly wrinkled, lightly scuffed, lightly damp stained label.
