94 JG. "Like the ’06 Canon, I love the 2006 Figeac, which delivers stunning purity and impressive aromatic complexity, coupled to a classically reserved and elegant palate impression. The stunning nose offers up scents of red and black cherries, menthol, chocolate, herb tones, a fine base of minerality and a generous, balanced coating of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is medium-full, complex and very pure, with lovely intensity of flavor, a beautiful core of fruit and great focus and cut on the ripely tannic and impeccably balanced finish. This wine has great length and grip on the backend, and really is a very classic vintage of Figeac in the making- not dissimilar to the lovely ’82 Figeac at a similar stage of development."
