92-94 JG. "As I have observed before, Vaulorent is one of my absolute favorite vineyards in all of Chablis, and the 2011 from Domaine William Fèvre was showing superb potential at the time of my visit. The deep and quite reserved nose wafts from the glass in a classic and very, very elegant blend of pink grapefruit, pear, lemongrass, flinty minerality and a topnote of citrus blossoms. On the palate the wine is very pure, full-bodied and nascently complex, with a very primary personality, a rock solid core, zesty acids and outstanding focus on the very, very long and transparent finish. This will be a great wine in the fullness of time and I will be shocked if it does not ultimately merit a score at the top of this range." View From the Cellar, Nov/Dec 2012, Issue #42 |
