93+ JG. "The wine is deep, pure and was really showing well, as it jumps from the glass in a beautiful mélange of black cherries, black raspberries, cocoa, woodsmoke, complex minerality, coffee and a stylish base of new wood. On the palate the wine is deep, fullish, pure and very intensely flavored, with a great core of fruit, superb minerality, ripe tannins and excellent focus on the long, pure and tangy finish. This may well be the best vintage of Méo-Camuzet Echézeaux that I have yet tasted- at the very least it will certainly rank up there with the best to date that have been turned out here. I just love the combination of elegance and complexity on this very transparent wine." View From the Cellar, Bonus Issue #2, March-April 2010 |
