95 AM. "This is admirably ripe as well but no where near as ripe as the Criots and the overall impression, oddly enough given that we're talking about Bâtard here, is one of greater elegance and finesse if less raw power. To be sure, this is a big, robust, powerful wine of considerable depth and sappy extract with flavors that are impeccably balanced with obvious reserve on the stunningly long finish. In particular, there is a penetrating intensity which is impressive and one can easily sense the class and as noted, this is a remarkably graceful Bâtard." Burghound.com, Jul 01, 2004 |
