92+ JG. ". . . grapes hailing not only from Fourchaume proper, but also from a few plots in both l’Homme Mort and Vaulorent. This wine was really showing well at the time of my visit, with a great mineral aspect to its personality on both the nose and palate- perhaps from the inclusion of some fruit from Vaulorent in the blend? The excellent bouquet delivers a blend of tart orange, green apple, smoke, lovely, complex soil tones, citrus peel and a gentle topnote of straw. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very, very racy for a young Fourchaume, with superb mid-palate intensity, bright acids and outstanding length and grip on the focused and very classy finish. Fine, fine juice!" John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Nov/Dec 2012, Issue #42 |
