98 JG. "The 2007 Les Clos from Vincent Dauvissat is another timeless monument in the making. The bouquet is closed and bottomless, as it offers up scents of apple, lime, grapefruit zest, a touch of Chablisienne hay and a kaleidoscope of minerality that runs the gambit from wet stones to crystalline minerals to intense flinty notes. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and very intensely flavored, with brilliant mid-palate depth, bracing acidity, laser-like focus and simply awesome cut and grip on the very, very long and soil-driven finish. Profound Clos." John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Jan/Feb 2009, Issue #19 |
