Lot #40. Faiveley (Domaine) Chambolle-Musigny La Combe d'Orveau 2004

Description: Consists of 6 Bottles, 0.75L
Score: 91-93 AM.
"If I had to nominate one wine as the top sleeper in Faiveley's considerable 1er portfolio, it would be this one. It's not always the best but it's always in the running for top honors and in 2004, it runs the table with its supremely high-toned aromas of ultra pure red pinot fruit nuanced with spice and tea notes. The flavor precision is so intense that it etches itself into the palate and is expressed almost as a rectilinear quality yet there is much better density here than most wines possessing this kind of delineation. In sum, this has that 'wow' factor with superb complexity and a stunningly refined demeanor. Buy it. Burghound.com, Jan 01, 2006
