92+ JG. "The holdings from which Maison Jadot produce their Beaune 'Grèves' are all located up at the top of the slope of this large vineyard, which is clearly where the best examples hail from. The 2009 is outstanding, as it offers up a complex and classy nose of black cherries, dark berries, espresso, a touch of fresh herbs, woodsmoke, complex soil tones and a nice framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very pure on the attack, with fine mid-palate depth, excellent nascent complexity, ripe tannins and great length and grip on the perfectly balanced finish. A very, very classy bottle of Beaune in the making." John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Nov/Dec 2010, Issue #30 |
