94 JG. "This was all sitting in two year-old feuillattes in the cellar, and will be a brilliant vintage for this often overlooked and extremely ageworthy Raveneau premier cru. The bouquet on the ’06 Butteaux is a stellar blend of apple, lemon, beeswax, a touch of vanilla pastry cream from the younger wood and a great base of soil. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, long and absolutely tensile, with stunning mid-palate depth, great cut and grip and a profoundly long, minerally backend. There is a precision to the focus of this wine that is almost gem-like, with the minerality expressed as crystalline in nature. An amazing vintage for the Butteaux."
